Reception for Teries

A reception for exiled Teries will be held in the Town Hall on the Wednesday of Common Riding week. A programme of entertainment featuring music, song and verse from the wealth of talent in the town has been arranged. A light supper will be served and bar facilities are provided.

The reception is organised for returning Teries (or direct descendants of Teries) including their partner and accompanying children aged 12 or over. Those eligible must have their permanent residence outwith the following areas of UK and Eire – Tayside, Central, Strathclyde, Fife, Lothian, Dumfries & Galloway, Borders, Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, Durham, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cleveland, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Humberside.

Please note the reception is free for all Exiles whilst for Non Exiles tickets are £7 each.

Application forms for exiled Teries returning to the town for the Common Riding are available by email at commonriding@btinternet.com.

Balcony seating will be open to the public with tickets available at ILF Imaging or on the door on the night, £3 each. Patrons on display of badge, may enter the balcony free of charge.

A strict dress code of jacket tie for Gentlemen, or equivalent for Ladies, must be observed.
