Cornet

Cornet Alistair (Ali) Mark George (24), of 33 Longcroft Crescent, Hawick is the eldest son of Brian and Pam George.

Ali has three younger siblings. Sister Kaye, Brother Taylor, Youngest brother Braden.

Ali was educated at Drumlanrig Primary School then Hawick High School. After leaving school he started work as an apprentice Greenkeeper at Hawick Golf Club before becoming fully qualified in 2014. Ali continues to work at the Golf Club and can be seen daily up the Vertish.

Ali first followed Cornet Ben Graham in 2008 on a pony named Smartie which was owned by his lass Katy’s mum.

Cornet’s Lass

Cornet’s Lass is Katy Moffat, aged 22 from Jedburgh. Katy is the eldest daughter of Bryan and Penny Moffat, and has three youngersisters. Lauren, Daisy and Connie. Katy was educated at Parkside Primary School in Jedburgh, before moving on to Earlston High School.

After leaving school, Katy studied Childcare at Borders College, a career in which she has passionately developed over the last few years.

She currently works at Little Treasures Nursery in Jedburgh, whilst also working some weekends at the Jammy Coo in Lilliesleaf. Katy first followed Cornet Jamie Richardson in 2009 on her loyal pony Smartie.

Acting Father and Mother

The Cornet’s Acting Father and Acting Mother for 2017 are Ronald J. Frost (Ronnie) and his wife Kerry C. Frost. They have been married for 11 years and Ronnie has three sonsBrian, Derek and Graeme and two granddaughters Kate and Amie Frost.

The Acting Father was born in 1957 and attended Burnfoot Primary School and Hawick

High School. After leaving school Ronnie joined the family business J. H. Frost, Joiners and Undertakers. Ronnie is now employed by Persimmon Homes as a Foreman Joiner.

Ronnie first followed Stuart Farish in 1988. Acting Mother Kerry was born in Lauder in 1972 and attended Lauder Primary School and Earlston High School. Kerry moved to Hawick in 2000 and is employed by Santander.
