On Sunday morning at Hornshole the wreath laying ceremony took place, under the supervision of the Master of Ceremonies.
Golden Jubilee Jubilee Cornet’s Lass Viv Robertson was honoured to lay the wreath, with Diamond Jubilee Lass Irene Huggan and Silver Jubilee Lass Angela Matthews supporting her and paying their respects on behalf of the town.
The low key ceremony was carried out following the government advice in regards to social distancing. Police Scotland were aware of the wreath laying ceremony and happy with the way it was carried out.
It was felt that it was wise to carry out the ceremony with as few people knowing as possible, to avoid any risk of drawing a crowd.
